As a personal trainer and natural bodybuilder, you would be correct in assuming that physical fitness consumes the thought of many, sometimes most, of my waking hours. But training isn't what is most important to me. You might ask, "If training isn't what is most important to you, then what is?" The answer, in a word, is God. God is the most important thing in my life. If you took the time to read my bio, then you know why I chose to become a trainer. But that's not the whole story.
I felt called into leadership at a fairly early age (let's say around 13). But not in a traditional sense. I never felt called to be a preacher or a missionary or anything like that. I felt like I was being called but I couldn't figure out where I was being called to. I'll be honest with you, this frustrated me. I couldn't even tell you how many times I prayed for direction but I never seemed to get it. Since then I've received words from multiple people about revelations they've had about me. If it had been one incident maybe I would've ignored it. But they all lined up with each other, so I knew this calling was real but couldn't find out where to go or what to do, so I just kept on with my own plans.
Now let's fast forward to about a year and a half ago. One day, while taking a lunch break at work, I was watching a video on YouTube of a famous fitness couple who owned a gym and were self-employed. I though to myself, "Man, why can't I do that!?" Then, my next thought was, "Wait. I can do that! I'm gonna do that!" So I started thinking of ways to make extra income in order to save toward that goal. What I didn't know at the time was that very moment was the birth of what would eventually be Treadaway Training. Admittedly, that was the only reason I wanted to start Treadaway Training in the beginning, but as time went on, it finally clicked with me. THIS is my mission field. I have common ground with people who love the gym like me. I have relationships with gym goers. This is the area where I can truly connect with people.
With that being said, maybe you aren't a Christian. Maybe you belong to another religion or no religion at all. I won't push my beliefs on you. I will still train you and we can still be friends. BUT I stress that having a relationship with Jesus Christ is more important than anything else in this world. Spiritual fitness trumps physical fitness in order of importance any day.
As always, thanks for reading! Feel free to like and share! God Bless!
