NOTE: During the study discussion, I mentioned that the eccentric accentuated group developed more strength and wanted to give a clarification on that statement. In the study, the eccentric group did NOT improve their 1 repitition maximum more than the traditional training group; however, they show greater isokinetic force output than the traditional group. They also showed greater improvements in the AMRAP (as many reps as possible) test.
This leads me to believe that for a given number of reps, the eccentric accentuated group would have been able to lift more weight, putting more mechanical stress on the muscles, and improving muscle growth. (This is speculation on my part.)
